C)  Bullet Answers

1.    Global/ National/ Local/ Personal Impacts:

This innovative way of drinking and storing water could reduce by a very large amount the excess pollution and waste water bottles cause.

2.) Impact Over Time:

2 Months/2 Years: Over time this could evolution to more than just storage for water but it could grow to be a replacement for anything that is usually stored in plastic containers.

20 Years: 20 years from now, contamination and animal extinction that is cause by plastic waste could be reduced by a large amount.

3.) Positive Outcome: We could live in a cleaner and less contaminated world, animals will have longer life span and humans would have less waste to recycle, less contamination in the sea and air.

D) Questions for others:
What other way do you think would be efficient to decrease the use of plastic?
Would you be willing to leave water bottles for the ‘blob’ of the future?

I think it will still take more. Is this like a gellitan packet?

Would you be willing to leave water bottles for the ‘blob’ of the future?
Personally - yes. In particular if it is easy to transport and easy to consume during a lecture / work / exercise etc. Can I share it with my pets?

How do you think people would react to this innovation?
This actually looks like something from the future because my first reaction is "yuck" but the ease of it being consumed without waste I think will be the appeal. So long as it doesn't break open in your bag.

  2. I like the idea, too. I am wondering if the packet can be made of something similar to the bio-degradable flatware (made from corn products, I think.) That way it would be safe for all to consume.
I echo Abbi's sentiment about designing it so that it would not break open during transport.
